Želimir Periš (www.zelimirperis.com) was born in 1975 in Zadar. He writes, plays, and codes.
He has published several books. The picture book „Dan kad se ugasio ekran" (The Day the Screen Went Dark) received two national awards for best picture book, as chosen by children’s juries. The short story collection „Gracija od čempresa" (The Grace of Cypresses) received the regional Štefica Cvek Award for feminist and queer literature. The novel „Mladenka kostonoga" (The Bony-Legged Bride), a postmodern epic about the witch Gila, has been published in nearly ten editions in Croatia, Serbia, and France, and won the Tportal Award for best Croatian novel as well as the regional Kočićevo pero Award.
He has created multiple board games and video games, deeply devoted to studying and promoting play as an art form.
He holds a master’s degree in computer science and has decades of professional experience in IT.
